5 Tips To Find The Best Aquatron Boat Dealer

If you're looking to purchase an Aquatron boat, you're going to have a major investment. Aquatron has a reputation for building some of the highest quality boats and yachts in the business, so you're not going to be disappointed in your new boat.My first advice to you: do not be tempted by the first Aquatron boat dealer you come across. You need to keep looking until you find the best deal.

Your dealer is someone with whom you're about to spend a great deal of money and with whom you'll do business with for many years. It pays to check out any prospective before you buy. Here are some tips that will help you in your quest to find the perfect boat dealer.

Is the dealer experimented ?

First, find out how much experience the Aquatron boat dealer have and how long he has been in business. If you find a dealer who has been in business for just one year, forget about it. Keep looking until you find someone who has been in this business for several years. This will help you ensure that you'll always find him if you ever need repairs or service. In addition, dealers that just started will generally provide less services and will have less experience, and there is also the risk that their business will close in a year or two since they aren't established. Keep that in mind to avoid the frustration to have questions or need repairs only to find out that your dealer has suddenly closed his doors.

Ask about the working hours

Secondly, ask about your dealer's business hours. Does he works in weekend and holidays ? It's possible that your Aquatron boat dealer will also service and repair your boat, and you certainly need to know if his business hours are convenient for you, or you'll be assured to never meet him.

Certified or not certified

You should also ensure that your Aquatron boat dealer is certified to service and repair your new boat. If not, your repairs may not be guaranteed under the boat's warranty and will cost you a stellar amount of money. In addition, you should find out if you'll be required to pay a deductible for under warranty repairs and the amount of the charges for basic engine service. You should also find out if service mechanics from your Aquatron boating dealer will make service calls. It can be very convenient if you can have your mechanic come to you while you're sipping a tea in your boat.

Ask for advice

Don't forget to ask around about your prospective dealer. If you have friends who own boats, ask who they purchased from. Better, just ask anyone that have an Aquatron boat. Approach gently and ask for recommendations. You'll never be rejected. It's very helpful to ask if there are any satisfied customers who had good experience with any dealer your might want to buy from. A satisfied customer will always be happy to make recommendation. A dissatisfied customer will tell you to avoid his dealer at all cost.

Compare price

Do I need to tell you to compare prices ? An Aquatron sailboat is a very expensive investment no matter how you look at it, but this is not a reason to spend more than you have to. Dealer prices can vary in great ranges, so it does pay to look and ask around. You can spend a few weeks looking around before deciding. Resist the temptation to buy from the first dealer that seems good enough. Continue looking around and you'll generally find a better offer. In addition, diverse dealers will have differing charges for things like service and repair, so it pays to check these prices, too. Some dealers will have interesting price for the boats but then will charge you thousands for repair and service. It's a marketing technique also used by car dealer.

Safety measure

Since it is a recreational activity, most boating is done in calm protected waters and during good weather. The Code of Federal Regulations lists some required equipment, ask your dealer if the sailboat will be equiped with these items :

* backfire arresters on gasoline powered vessels

* ventilation systems on gasoline powered vessels

* plaques which list the penalties associated with pollution due to oil discharge, or dumping trash overboard

* a marine sanitation system (MSD) which prevents water pollution from sewage

Safety should be your first priority when buying your ferry. Just print this article and show it to your dealer if you find it difficult to remember the name of these equipment.

I'm sure that you will love your new Aquatron boat. Even if you made the choice to buy a used one, Aquatrons are quality boats that resist the test of time.
You have just to choose your Aquatron boat dealer carefully, and you will sail happily for many years.

Does A Bass Boat Cover Really Protect Your Boat?

Do you know why you need to have a bass boat cover? Like most fishermen out there, I think you too have invested a lot of money in your boat. Wouldn't you like to protect this expensive property from potential damage? If you answered yes, then a bass boat cover is what you need! There are times when the boat is not used, or simply stored in a garage. It is in these times that the boat is in danger of being damaged by the elements. Even if you keep your boat under the cover of a portico, in a marina, or in an enclosed garage or store house, a bass boat cover can help to preserve your boat from destructive elements such as the sun, rain, and other weather issues, and even from being attacked by harmful insects!

When you look for a bass boat cover, you'll find that there are many options available to you, including custom made covers for your particular boat. Depending on how much you want to spend on them, any number of bass boat covers can be special ordered to the exact specifications of your boat. You also have the option for general bass boat cover precut in various sizes to fit almost any bass boat. Covers like this will cost a bit less because they are prefabricated and not custom-fit.

Bass boat cover also comes in several material types, also depending on how much you want to spend. For example, Basscat offers three lines of covers; each made in multiple sizes for various boats, and offered in three different material types. All of these factors incur a variety of costs, and when you custom order your boat cover, you'll find out just how much your particular size, style, and material will cost you.

When you price out custom made bass boat cover, you'll probably notice that they aren't exactly inexpensive. However, when you think about the cost of maintenance you'll pay on a boat that doesn't have a cover, there is no comparison. Imagine the seats in your boat cracking and needing to be recovered. Picture the metal on your boat rusting and looking shabby. Think about the discoloration that can be caused by sun and rain over time, leading to splotchy coloring of the material in the boat. All of this causes more than just the aesthetic displeasure of seeing the damage – it devalues your boat, causing you to lose money on your investment.

As you can see, if you want to keep your boat in good condition for a long time, then a bass boat cover is indispensable! Prepare yourself to protect your asset if you really want to benefit from it for a long time. If you take good care of your boat then not only will its life be elongated, you will also be assured that your boat is protected from damages!

By the way, I have dedicated a whole website to bass boat cover. If you are interested to learn a little more about bass boat cover you are welcome to visit my website. Simply click on the link in my resource box below!

Big Game Fishing Tips

There are many types of big game fishing that you can seek out.
Everything from Swordfish, Marlin to Sailfish can be caught
with the right boat and skipper to guide you.

One thing to bear in mind though, is that if you want to catch the
big game, this won't happen quickly and won't be very either. In
fact, you could be running into thousands per day if you want to
charter a large boat capable of landing a huge fish.

To catch big game, you need to spot them. This is different from normal
methods of fishing. You don't just throw out your bait, sit back
and hope for the best. You actually need to stalk the fish, find
out where they are and then move in for the kill. Seeing small
bait fish on the surface moving rapidly is usually a good sign that
there is something lurking below chasing them.

If you are fortunate to hook a big game fish, you need to be prepared
for what is about to happen. You'll almost certainly be strapped into
a chair by a harness and be prepared to play for fish for sometimes
a few hours. Yes, that's hours! It will almost certainly be hot where
you are fishing too, so this will take a lot out of you. Drink plenty
of water and keep hydrated. This will prevent you from becoming too
tired and still be able to fight with the fish. The crew will play a
vital role for you. They will reel in the other rods and strap you
into the chair and do everything they can to help. So finding a good
skipper and crew is vital to your success in big game fishing.

Marlin and Sailfish will literally jump out of the water when they
are hooked. It's sometimes quite unbelievable to see a huge fish
jumping hundreds of yards away that is actually attached to your
line! This is also a crucial part in the fight too, as this is when
many times they will shake the hook out of their mouths and then
the fight is over.

Catching a big game fish is one of the most exhilarating types of
fishing you can do. It's hard work but well worth it once you get
to have your picture taken holding a monster fish in your arms.

The Most Common Types Of Boat Lifts

There are many different types of boat lifts available on the market today. Some of these lifts can be purchased in "do it yourself" kits others require professional installation. The choice of a boat lift primarily depends on the type of waterfront you live on, the amount of money you want to spend, the type of boat you have (aluminum vs. fiberglass) and the size of your boat. Boat lifts also can be installed with either manual winches (up to 2000lbs) or electrical winches (1000lbs and up).

Unless you have a very light aluminum boat, we highly recommend purchasing electrical motor(s) to doing the lifting of the boat. Not only is it an extremely easier way of lifting your boat out of the water, but also, you may upgrade down the road to a heavier fiberglass boat and it would one less replacement cost.

There are new types of boat lifts coming out every season, so for the purpose of this article, we will focus on the most effective and popular.

Davits:

Davits have been the most common type of boat lift for many, many years. Basically, they are two steel poles that are called "booms" that are installed either on the sea wall or on pilings. The booms are attached to a base that is bolted down to either the sea wall or the piling. Each boom swings 360 degrees so that should you purchase a bigger boat, most likely the booms can be swung out to still be able to attach to the boat. If not, extensions are available to upgrade, if needed. Each boom has a stainless steel cable (make sure it is stainless steel cable) that attaches to both the boat and the winch.

One boom cable attaches to the front cleat either under or on top of the bow of the boat and the other attaches to the rear. The vast majority of boats require a spreader bar to be attached to the boom pulling up the rear of the boat. The reason for this is twofold; there are two cleats on the rear of the boat to attach and the spreader bar keeps the boat even when lifting and when out of the water on the lift.

As far as whether to attach the davits to pilings or to the sea wall, there are different schools of thought on that. We recommend speaking to the installers about what they recommend, however, we have seen many a lift pull a piling right out of the water while the boat is being lifted. One other maintenance that must be performed yearly is the inspection of your cables. Again, we have seen many a boat lift cable snap and send one end of the boat crashing down into the water. We suggest replacement every four years or so, depending on usage and weather.

One davit alone can also be installed to use as a personal watercraft (Jet Ski) lift. The only additional equipment needed is a sling that attaches to the one boom cable. The sling is a polyester strap with two stainless steel panels that attach to either side of the Jet Ski to lift it out of the water. Again, an electrical or manual winch can be installed and the boom swings 360 degrees.

Final note: There are many different sizes of davits and booms that can be purchased depending on your boat specs.

Piling Mount Boat Lifts:

This type of boat lift attaches directly to piling which eliminates all support beams. This type of lift is great for sail boats and boats with towers. They also come in many types of capacities, depending on the weight of your boat.

Drive on Boat Lifts:

This type of boat lift is becoming more and more popular due to the maintenance free nature of the lift. The only determining factor is that you have to live on a waterway that always has water. For example, many types of canals, at low tide, do not have enough water in them to support this type of lift. They are considered very user-friendly, convenient and safe.

They can support ranges from a 12 foot dinghy to a 50 foot offshore boat. The boat lift is drive on and basically goes up and down with the tides. It attaches to the pilings on your dock making boarding and access easy. Its also modular and portable meaning if you move, you can take it with you.

Cradle Boat Lifts:

Currently there are 25 different types of cradle boat lifts available. They can be either steel, aluminum or a combination of both. They have capacities ranging from 4,500 to 30,000 pounds.

Marine Elevator Boat Lifts:

Marine elevator boat lifts are ideal for extreme tidal areas or other unusual docking conditions. The capacity of these lifts is from 2,000 to 14,000 pounds.

Boating For Pleasure

Boating can be fun, but it can also be a expensive state of affairs too particularly if you want to be the proud owner of your own boat. The most common trap that most first time boat purchasers fall into is to purchase the one that appeals to their eyes first.

Before deciding to purchase your first boat, you must be mindful that there are a great deal of dissimilar types of boats available in the market. Purchasing the most attractive boat does not mean you are going to be fulfilled with it particularly after you discover that it does not permit you to do the things that you want it to do.

Selecting the correct boat for you is not something that can be done in a matter of seconds. One of the most beneficial tips to know beforehand is to find out what you are planning how to use the boat, whether you are going to use it for pure enjoyment such as cruising the lake, oceans or watercourses or merely going to use the boat for a fishing trip with your friends.

At the moment we are not going to talk about whether you can afford the boat or not, or whether you should buy a used boat or a new one. We are talking about more on the types of available boats that will be worthy of the types of activities that you are going to apply it to.

So, in order for you to pick out the correct boat, you have to take your time and determine the intention of your purchase. Even if you determine that you want to use the boat for fishing, it may surprise you that there are different types of fishing boat designs out there. Selecting the incorrect boat will have quite an affect on your fishing experience.

There are general-purpose fishing boats which are very good for saltwater or freshwater fishing. These boats are suited to different types of fishing and function well in choppy waters. Another type of boat is called an air boat. These types of boats are designed specifically to get you over marshy waters or locations that other types of boats are not capable of reaching.

Some of us would wish to have a boat that simply allows us to do nothing but putter on the river or lake and enjoy the beautiful views of nature at it's best. If your estimation of a great day comprises of spending time with your friends and families cruising around the lake or river, then you would be better off to obtain a boat designed for this need. Selecting the correct boat entails that you are getting the maximum benefit from your financial outlay.

Bass Fishing Techniques - That Will Help You Catch More Bass

Bass fishing is a sport that requires a certain degree of skill. Regardless of your skill level there are a number of bass fishing techniques that will help you improve your fishing skills. First of all a good bass fishermen will take the time to educate himself with the fish's surroundings and environment. Having this knowledge will pay off in the long run. ask any good fishermen and they will tell you that having the tiniest bit of knowledge about the fish you are fishing for can make the difference between going home with a boat load of fish or nothing at all at the end of the day.

When your out fishing for bass it is very important to be as gentle as possible. If you are bass fishing with plastic bait you should learn how to gentle flip the bait. Mastering this subtle technique will make all the difference in the world. The easiest way to learn how to flip the bait is to take a empty coffee can and try to set the bait in the can from various distances. Learning how much effort it takes to gently place bait where it will do the most good is very important. Most inexperienced bass fishermen will cast the bait, and watch it splash into the water. A experienced bass fisher can cast the same bait without creating so much as a ripple on the surface of the water.

Another good bass fisher needs to know how fast or slow to move bait through the water. If you are using a plastic worm, the fish are more likely to go after the bait if its movement looks natural. Because real worms don't swim very fast, the bait should be pulled slowly through the water. Bobbing the bait up and down a little also imitates the action of live lure. More often than not a new or inexperienced fishermen will have the right set up, but they will use the wrong technique.

When your out fishing for bass, its important to pay attention to the bait you are using, and you should try to move the bait in a way that appears natural to the fish. You should also pay attention to the weather and the time of year. If you are fishing in the winter, you will want to move the bait slowly. When the water is cold the fish will still eat but they won't swim very far in cold water for food. They will count on an ambush to catch their meal. Winter time is a excellent time to use the bait flipping technique, but you need to be precise. If the bait is right in front of a bass, there is a good chance that the fish will eat the bait rather than chase something else through the water.

Bass Fishing- Great Ideas To Help You Find The Best Areas

What is it in bass fishing that compels so many people to take part in this activity? People really like bass fishing that is why when they hear a trend about it this peaks their interests.

"Where are the what...? Where are the bass!" How many anglers (recreational and tournament) find a body of water that they have not fished before, get the boat in the water, then, they ask themselves this question? This is most likely one of the largest issues in bass fishing that an angler needs to understand.

Here you will get advice on how to find areas best for bass fishing.
Finding bass and understanding the water would be the most important question of many bass anglers. The next question that is asked the most would be what type of bait they need to use to reel in a large bass.

Now when you consider it, there are actually only two main ideas that go together when it comes to bass fishing. The more you understand about these two, the more it will help you to become a much finer angler, and they are:

1. Learning how to find the best bass locations.

2. Learning about the different baits, techniques and presentations to help you catch a bass.

Trying to find a good place for bass can be challenging to most anglers because there are many factors that need to be considered such as:

1. Learn map reading - this is a basic skill that needs to be learned because through a map it will be easier to find good places for bass fishing.

2. Discovering the best places to find active Bass soon after cold fronts and during late fall and early spring times. You should definitely consider the water conditions.

3. Judging the depth of the water- this is a vital aspect because the depth of the water will be a determining factor if you are in a good location or not.

4. Clarity of water- you might find bass fishing easier if you are well-aware of the water clarity in your area.

5. Temperature of the water

6. Seasonal patterns- there can be a related trend of bass fishing.

7. Structure area location

8. Locating areas of vegetation

There is even more! Being a bass angler that is consistent includes more than just jumping in your boat, getting in the water, and casting your baits. That's why it can get so exhilarating and aggressive at bass tournaments, because as you gather more information about finding bass the faster you can begin to catch them right? And hey, thats half the struggle?

Let's begin by taking a look at a map of a lake. There are usually two varieties of lake maps that a majority of anglers will handle which are referred to as the: "Topographical" and "Hot Spot" maps. The "Hot Spots" map displays the best fishing spots whereas the "Topo" map will present more detail.

The important thing you need to do when using a lake map would be to sector the map. You will need to analyze the map. Check for areas where you think fish might be. Next, You should separate the map into sections depending on the time you are allowed to pre-fish for an upcoming tournament or how long you have to just fish for enjoyment in the body of water.

The size of the sections will vary according to structure, contours, and the number of places you may want to investigate throughout the day depending on what is shown on the map. You should not just cast your bait a few times then leave. Try a variety of baits if you detect signs of fish in any particular area to try to provide a working system.

Here are some vital things that you can probably check for when trying to find bass on any particular water body:

1. Areas of Vegetation

2. Contours that are uneven

3. Shallow water near deep water areas

4. Point drops and point

5. Different kinds of structure

Boating Adventures With Capt'n Bob

The following is a true story and the names have not been changed because there are no innocent, we were all guilty of stupidity. This happened quite a few summers ago, but is as clear today as back then. After reading, you'll understand why.

We all started out bright and early for a day out on the water. The five of us; my brothers Rick and Dave, myself and two Bob's, Bob P. and Captain Bob were looking forward to a fun day out boating. Since we all lived in the city, and none of us owned a boat we went on down to Bill's Boat Rentals on Miller's Island. Bill was a crusty old fellow who reminded you of Poopdeck Pappy. He had owned Bill's Boats forever and proudly stated that he had built each of these 14' wooden boats himself, and kept repeating, "yea, I built these boats, they'll outlast me". We would all nod and say something like "is that right" but thinking as old as you are, that shouldn't be a problem. After a few minutes of Bill instructing us on what not to do and where not to go, we started off.

It was a calm sunny day as we headed out on the water. Miller's Island sits at the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay. There's a series of small islands there that are either uninhabited or used by Aberdeen Proving Ground, a government weapons testing agency. The inlets are shallow but quickly drop off into deeper water out in the channels. As instructed, we stayed within the inlets for the first few hours, playing Kamikazee with each other, investigating the islands, and doing some swimming.

It was starting to get hot as the day was clear and the high temperatures were suppossed to be around 95 degrees. We got back in the boats with our boat in the lead and Captain Bob manning the stick. (Captain Bob was one of those types of people that was super intelligent with zero common sense). Without a word he started heading for the channel. We all kind of wondered what he was doing, and eventually one of us asked him, "where you going Bob"? "Uhhh, just over here to the other side". Not wanting to spoil anyone's fun, I figured well, what the heck. We made it across the channel fighting with the waves along the way, but we eventually got over there. After going a ways further along the coast, my brother Rick yelled from the other boat, "you better check your gas". Sure enough, 5 gallons of gas doesn't get you very far, and we were well on the way to empty. I told Bob that we needed to turn around and try and find some gas as soon as possible. We got as far as the other side of the channel when the thing died. We were out of gas! After talking to the guys in the other boat, we decided that they would go and get some gas and bring it back to us, and we would hangout with the boat.

Captain Bob and I pulled the boat along the shore, and could do nothing but wait for the other guys to return. By this time, it was about three in the afternoon, and it was scorching hot. We kept getting into the water, trying to get out of the sun and heat as much as possible but it wasn't working. We were being cooked. After a few hours had passed with no sign of the other guys, I thought that I had to do something so I told Captain Bob that I was going to go up on shore and try and find somebody, or something. I started walking along the road and noticed how deadly quiet it was. I got a little further in and noticed a couple of shacks. I went up to them and on the shack was a skull and crossbones sign and the warning, 'Stay out, Contaminated' or something to that effect. I was at the Aberdeen Proving Ground arsenal, the place where they test weapons, mustard gas, things like that! I figured this place wasn't a safe place to be, and got out of there pronto!

Arriving back at the boat, I told Captain Bob what I had run across. He listened and said, "well, I've got more bad news, I put the propeller down in the water and tried to start it, and I believe I broke something". About this time, I had just about had enough, and let out with a few expletives and wondering out loud how he could be so stupid to try and start the engine in two feet of water? After cooling down a bit, we realized our situation was getting pretty desperate as it was going to be dark in another hour or so. We decided that we had better try and get out to the channel, and get the attention of someone else. We started pushing and pulling the boat along the shore, around a corner hoping to see anyone come by who could offer us some aid.

After about an hour, we happened to see a boat coming by, and after waving frantically, caught their attention, and they came on over to investigate. After explaining our situation, the guy told us that he would give us a tow to the nearest marina, which was just about 5 miles away. We made it there and after thanking the guy a thousand times, got the number of Bill's Boats and called him to tell him our situation and where we were. To say the least, Bill's son was a bit angry. He told us that they had been out looking for us for a couple of hours. My brother Dave had gone out with him to try and find us but just couldn't remember where they had left us. Out there it all sort of looks the same really.

Bill's son arrived a bit later, and tied the rowboat up to his cruiser and towed us all back to his dad's place. It was dark by now, and we were all tired and miserable. We later found out that my brothers and Bob P. had also ran out of gas near Bill's and had to get towed in themselves! After a lot of grumbling from Bill's son, he told us that the piece we broke would cost about $100! We all pitched in to come up with the money, and finally jumped in our cars to make our way home. It had been one long day of boating misadventures to say the least.

The moral of the story is, when you go out boating, be prepared for the unexpected, or perhaps.. never let the brainy guy be the Captain or you may wind up..up the river without a motor!

Personal Pontoon Boats For River Fishing

I've been a river angler for more than 15 years and have fallen in love with personal pontoon boats. Fishing in a river used to mean wading for long distances upstream and downstream in an attempt to catch fish. There is nothing wrong with fishing in this way, however on some rivers it requires a ton of crossing back and forth, and with no clearly defined trails along many rivers, the terrain can become impassible. Therefore I could only fish a couple of miles both up and downstream from the parking area.

Then I began using a personal pontoon boat. What's a personal pontoon boat, you ask? It's basically a seat mounted on a pair of inflatable pontoons. I think you can even get them with two seats if you need an extra seat. With a personal pontoon boat, you fish the river in style. They are great.

Using a personal pontoon boat to fish your favorite river is the way to go. They offer you the flexibility to cover great distance, much farther than walking along the shore and crossing the river numerous times. You see, I don't actually fish from my personal pontoon, although I suppose a person could? I use it to get down the river, and simply stop at a stretch That I want to fish, pull over, and fish the area. I wear my waders the entire time, just like when hiking up and down the river, so when a get to a good stretch of river, I fish it as I always do. It's great!

One of the things I enjoy most about river and stream fishing is being out in nature. There's just something about standing in the middle of a flowing river on a beautiful day that feels right to me. I still get to experience all of this with the help of my personal pontoon boat; it's just that now I have more access to the rivers that I fish. I'm no longer limited to only the area's that are within walking distance of the parking area.

My personal pontoon boat has at least doubled the amount of river I can fish in a single trip. And the fact that I still get to fish the way I love to and don't have the bother of maneuvering and hauling a canoe or small boat is another great advantage of my personal pontoon boat. If you spend a lot of time in waders, river fishing, it may be time to look into added a personal pontoon boat to your fishing gear.
